I’d got some money for my birthday and was looking for a little pampering. After a bit of research I settled on the Beurer FB50 Foot Spa with Water Heater. It wasn’t a cheap, at just over £80, but it was a treat.

The Beurer FB50 Luxury Foot Bath Spa With Water Heater

The main reason for choosing this one was the multitude of functions and features, beyond the standard bubbling. There’s a vibrating massage, a bubble massage as well as a dry massage. It also has infrared heat, which is claimed to help relax tight muscles, improve circulation and general pain relief.

It also has 6 magnets which the sales bumpf said was for “magnetic therapy to boost circulation and promote tissue repair”. Let’s just say, I’m not convinced!

There are several interchangeable pedicure attachments to choose from, which spin around when pressed. These I find very welcome, considering I have some hard skin on my feet.

The final feature are a set of roller attachments for foot reflex zone massage. These are removable, and do seem to be a bit of a weak point – I can’t see them lasting long-term without breaking. Time will tell.

How to use the Spa

I place my spa on a large waterproof mat, in case of spillages. Once plugged in I start to fill with approximately 5 litres of warm water. There’s a “Max” line that you shouldn’t fill beyond. It’s a little hard to see, but it’s down below the pumice area.

Then it’s time to switch on the spa. The buttons are quite clear. There’s an On/Off button, then one to turn on the massage function, and one to turn on the bubbles. You can adjust the temperature by pressing the thermometer button, and check the remaining time by pressing the clock button.

Controls for the Beurer FB50

The Beurer FB50 Foot Spa runs for 20 minutes before stopping, but you can adjust it to give yourself a little more time – up to 60 minutes if you desire.

Starting the Beurer FB50 massage option

I powered on the spa and chose the Massage option by pressing the button. The temperature started at 31C and reached 34C for the 20 minute session.

Bubbles!

If you chose the bubbles, they are relaxing, but they do cause the water to splosh about a bit, and you may get some splashing outside of the spa. Plus it’s a little noisy, so if you’re watching the TV you will be reaching for the remote to turn the volume up!

There is a storage container for the pumice stones, which sits in the spa when empty, just below where the pumices are used. I find that I just use the pumice in the photo above, but that’s just because of my hard skin.

There is a carry point at the top of the spa. But when it’s full of water and you want to empty it, you’ll find you use the carry point and place your other hand under the spa. It would be great if there were two carry points, just to be sure.

If you’re settling down for a pampering, why not brew yourself a lovely cup of coffee to complete your relaxation? Check out my review of the Cafflano Kompresso handheld espresso maker. Final Thoughts

We really enjoy using the Beurer FB50 Luxury Foot Spa, especially because of the vibrating massage and the water heater keeping the water nice and toasty. It is a little pricey, but that’s because of the heater and multitude of features. If you spend a lot of time on your feet and have some cash to pamper yourself, this is definitely worth considering!
